About the project

Interior design for the innovative research and development center (RDC) of August, a manufacturer and supplier of effective plant protection products against weeds, diseases and pests. The new building of the research center of August is located in Chernogolovka, a science town near Moscow. The project was implemented by the company in order to organize a full-scale infrastructure of innovation activities in the field of plant protection and related industries and provides for the creation of the country's largest full-cycle R&D center in its field. The total area of the facility is 25,000 square meters including terrace. The 4 ground floors accommodate offices, study rooms, meeting rooms, research laboratories, recreation areas, dining areas, a large conference hall with innovative interactive solutions, technical rooms and various support areas. Effective modern solutions were implemented for the interiors of the SIC, taking into account the unusual shape of the building and the large glazed area of the structure. The entrance lobby area of the building acts as the first point of contact with the company, telling about its mission and goals. We actively used the company's slogan “It's easier to grow with us” in the formation of the first floor space. The idea of growth can also be traced in the interior architecture: high columns go into the space of light ceilings, as if reaching for the light. The geometry of the ceiling echoes the silhouette of the company's logo. Neutral white and gray shades are used as a background, and accents in the interiors are set with the help of natural greenery and bright reddish color, symbolizing fertility and harvest. In offices, meeting rooms and coffee points, accents of blue, which is one of August's corporate colors, were added on a muted beige background. The use of tactile materials in the decoration (in particular, wall panels with texture, upholstered furniture made of textile) adds warmth to the interior. Open ceilings with communications, as well as separate workplaces for scientific staff, were provided in the laboratories where new products with improved characteristics will be created and new effective strategies for the use of protection products will be developed. Typical design projects of offices of different sizes were developed for managers, as well as a VIP reception, meeting rooms and a separate dining area. The SIC building in Chernogolovka was erected in order to fulfill the terms of the agreement concluded in 2022 on the basis of the instruction of the Governor of the Moscow Region between August and the Government of the Moscow Region. The land plot for the project was leased to August under the Land for 1 ruble program, which is conducted by the Moscow Region Government and is aimed at solving the strategic task of developing import-substituting production in the country.
